Honestly, Wack Wack Golf & Country Club is the ultimate flex. If you are playing a round of 18 holes here, you are either a member of the country's elite or you have some seriously well-connected friends because it is strictly private. The club has two championship courses: the East Course, which is famous for hosting the Philippine Open and has that legendary, pressure-inducing 16th hole, and the West Course, which is slightly more forgiving but still quite a challenge. The fairways are meticulously manicured, and the massive, ancient trees lining the greens make you forget that you are actually in the middle of a very noisy city.

But don't let the serene greens fool you, because getting here is a test of patience. The club's main entrance is situated off Shaw Boulevard, which becomes an absolute parking lot during the EDSA rush hour. If you are scheduling a morning tee-off, you might get lucky with light traffic, but a late afternoon game means you'll be crawling through Mandaluyong's main veins. If you're commuting, it is a bit awkward; you can take the MRT-3 to Shaw Boulevard Station and then hail a taxi or grab a jeepney heading down Shaw, but most people who play here have private drivers or navigate the heavy traffic in their own SUVs. Parking inside the compound is abundant and secure, though, which is a rare relief in this part of town.

The clubhouse itself is massive and oozes old-money charm. Even if you're not a fan of golf, the food at their main restaurant is top-tier, especially their local heritage dishes. The service is incredibly professional, with caddies who know the slopes of the greens like the back of their hand. Just a heads up: the dress code is very strictly enforced, so do not even think about showing up in collarless shirts or denim if you don't want to get politely turned away at the gate. It's a fascinating slice of Manila's high society, preserved right next to the busy commercial sprawl of Greenhills.
