A Retail City by the Bay
If you are planning to shop at Mall Of Asia (or MOA, as we locals call it), make sure you wear your most comfortable walking shoes. Honestly, this place is so ridiculously huge that it feels less like a mall and more like a small city. With multiple massive wings, an indoor arena, an IMAX theater, and an outdoor theme park right by the bay, it's incredibly easy to clock in 10,000 steps just walking from one end to the other.
Getting to MOA can be a test of patience, especially during the EDSA rush hour. If you're taking public transit, your main hub is the MRT-3 Taft Avenue Station or the LRT-1 EDSA Station. From there, you'll find a constant stream of jeepneys and UV Express vans heading straight to the MOA globe terminal. But if you're coming on a weekend afternoon, the traffic along Macapagal Boulevard and Diokno Boulevard can get incredibly clogged. So, just a heads up: if you have a scheduled movie or dinner, leave at least an hour earlier than you think you need to. If you are driving, finding a parking slot in the Main Mall building is a real challenge, so we usually head straight to the North or South Parking Buildings where there's slightly less competition.
Anyway, the real highlight of MOA is the SM By the Bay area. It's a great spot for an afternoon stroll or a quick merienda, where you can watch the famous Manila Bay sunset. And if you're looking for dining options, the selection is endless, from budget-friendly food courts to high-end buffet spots. The seaside air is a nice break from the air-conditioned malls, though it can get pretty humid during the summer months.
