The Upgrade from the Typical Food Court
Let's be real, regular mall food courts can be super chaotic and noisy, but the Mega Food Hall changes the game. Located on the fifth floor of the Mega Fashion Hall, it feels more like a curated collection of trendy fast-casual spots rather than a standard tray-sliding cafeteria. The vibe here is bright and open, thanks to the massive glass windows that look out over the Ortigas skyline. Honestly, it is a great spot to grab a bite if you're tired of the usual fast food options downstairs but don't want to commit to a full sit-down restaurant service. You can get anything from Hawker Chan's famous soy sauce chicken to Frankie's Buffalo Wings, all in one sitting.
The seating area is designed with a mix of high tables, comfortable booths, and solo counter seats. It is surprisingly clean and well-maintained. Just a heads up, the place gets packed with office workers from the nearby ADB and Cyberscape towers during the lunch hour rush. If you are dining in a group, someone definitely needs to stand guard and secure a table while the others order, otherwise you will end up holding your trays for a while.
Surviving the Commute and Ortigas Traffic
Getting to SM Megamall is always a test of patience, especially on a Friday afternoon when EDSA turns into a parking lot. If you're coming from the south, your best bet is taking the MRT-3 and getting off at Shaw Boulevard Station, then walking through the connected malls. If you're from the north, Ortigas Station is slightly closer to the Fashion Hall side. Commuting by car or Grab is an option, but the traffic around the Julia Vargas and ADB Avenue loop is legendary. You can easily spend forty-five minutes just trying to enter the Megamall parking building. If you do drive, head straight to the Fashion Hall basement parking early, or just leave your car at home and stick to the train.
