Vertis North
A prominent destination in the Areas scene.
Vertis North is a growing business and commercial hub in Quezon City, located near TriNoma and MRT North Avenue Station.
- Exact Barangay/City: Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City
- Best For: Premium shopping, outdoor events, and studying in modern cafes
- Average Spend: ₱250 - ₱650 per person
- Power Outlets & Wi-Fi: Excellent coverage in Ayala Malls Vertis North; several cafes have dedicated outlets and fast connections.
The Northern Version of BGC
Honestly, Vertis North is QC's answer to the high-end vibes of Taguig and Makati. It is a relatively new development by Ayala Land that feels much cleaner and more organized than the older parts of Quezon City. You'll find high-rise office towers, high-end residential condos, and the stylish Ayala Malls Vertis North. The mall itself is pretty unique, featuring a huge indoor activity area and a premium cinema. Anyway, my favorite part is the Vertis North gardens, a green open space in the middle of the development where they hold outdoor food markets and seasonal events. It's a nice change of pace from the typical concrete malls of QC.
Commuter Realism: MRT Access and EDSA Traffic
So, let's talk about how to get here. The good news is that Vertis North is much easier to access via public transport compared to places like BGC. It is located right next to the MRT-3 North Avenue Station and the Unified Grand Central Station. You can easily walk from the MRT station through TriNoma mall and make your way to Vertis North via covered pedestrian walkways. Just a heads up: EDSA and North Avenue are permanent traffic disaster zones, especially on Friday nights when everyone is heading home to the north. If you're planning to take a jeepney or bus from Project 6 or Monumento, prepare to sit in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Cafes, Dining, and Studying
If you're a student or remote worker, Vertis North is a solid alternative to the chaotic cafes of Katipunan or Morato. The cafes here are generally quieter and more spacious. You'll find several trendy coffee brands with plenty of power outlets and solid Wi-Fi. The dining options are also diverse, ranging from affordable food court stalls to premium Korean BBQ joints and Japanese restaurants. Since the crowd here is a mix of office workers from the nearby BPO towers and university students, the vibe is energetic but still conducive for getting some actual work done.
