Commuter vs. Driving Reality
Honestly, if you don't have a private car or aren't willing to spend on a Grab ride, getting here is a major mission. Public transit options are super limited; your best bet is to find the yellow shuttle vans at Starmall Alabang that pass by Daang Hari. If you're driving, though, it's a breeze since you can just take the MCX exit from SLEX. Just a heads up, the traffic along Daang Hari can build up during the weekend afternoons because a lot of families from Cavite and Las Piñas head over here to hang out.
The Vibe at Evia Mall
But once you arrive, you'll immediately see why people make the trip. The main attraction is Evia Lifestyle Center, which looks more like a high-end European street than a typical Manila mall. It's got high glass ceilings, indoor trees, and a very relaxed vibe. So, if you're tired of the crowded malls in the metro, this is a much cleaner and quieter alternative. For movie lovers, the Evia Cinema is pretty top-tier, featuring comfortable recliner seats and butler service that makes regular cinemas feel like economy class. It's a bit of a splurge, but definitely worth trying at least once.
Aesthetic Workspaces and Cafe Hopping
Anyway, the real highlight of the Villar City area is the cafe scene. This is basically the homeland of Villar-owned cafes like Dear Joe and Ruined Project, which are famous for their aesthetic interiors filled with plants and rustic brick walls. The coffee is honestly a bit pricey, but the spaces are massive and perfect for working on your laptop. Most of these cafes have reliable Wi-Fi and plenty of power outlets. If you're looking for a quiet study spot where you won't be rushed, this area is ideal. Just keep in mind that the food prices are on the higher side, so it's not exactly a budget-friendly destination, but the atmosphere makes up for it.
